GRAFFITI ARRESTS BR1-706 -AMY



GRAFFITI ARRESTS: Two teenagers were arrested Monday after being caught spraying graffiti on a bridge over railroad tracks on I-95 near Newark, police said. Brandon C. Taylor, 18, and a 17-year-old -- both of Newark -- were charged with resisting arrest, graffiti and two other offenses, said state police Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale. About 4:50 p.m. Monday, a motorist spotted the pair tagging the bridge south of Bellevue Road and called police. A trooper confronted the pair, who fled. They were caught by after a brief foot chase, their hands were covered with black spray paint, police said. Taylor told troopers he was spray-painting his ex-girlfriend's name on the bridge because Monday was her birthday. She recently died in a car crash, according to court records. Taylor was released on $4,000 unsecured bail after being charged. The juvenile was turned over to his parents after being charged pending a Family Court hearing..
